Amravati flood victims seek govt jobs
AMRAVATI: Three persons from Jawala Budruk village in Anjangaon Surji tehsil, Amravati district, who lost their family members in the recent devastating floods in the district, have sought government jobs instead of the financial assistance to be provided by the government. These people also said that they were ready to return the financial assistance received from the government in lieu of a government job.
The three persons, Dilip Barde, Rajesh Barde and Premdas Hiwarale, accompanied by RPI leader Rameshwar Abhyankar met Amravati collector Purushottam Bhapkar and presented him a memorandum of their demands on Tuesday.

Dilip Barde lost his mother Kamala, father Kalambaji, wife Mangala, son Samyak and daughter Prayatna in the floods. Rajesh Barde’s wife Sangeeta, two daughters and a son too were swept away, while Premdas Hiwarale lost his wife Ratna with three daughters and a son.
The trio received cheques from the rehabilitation minister Patangrao Kadam when he visited Jawala. All the three victims are educated and hail from scheduled tribes. Dilip Barde has previously worked in the tehsil office of Anjangaon Surji.
They assured Bhapkar that they are willing to return the financial assistance if they get a government job. Bhapkar, in turn, sources claimed that Bhapkar said that he would talk up the issue with higher officials and arrive at a decision accordingly.
